Katra is a famous cave shrine located in the Trikuta Mountains of Indian state Jammu & Kashmir. This sacred shrine is devoted to Goddess Shakti, known as Vaishno Devi. Through out the year lakhs of devotees visit this sacred shrine. The journey to the shrine is a spiritual experience. One can see people are climbing up the holy shrine ignoring their pain and miseries. People say nothing matters for them when mata calls them. So, people climb the shrine saying loudly Jai Mata Di. People believe that mata will grant their wishes. A pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi is considered one of the holiest pilgrimages in the country.
The Katra tour starts upon arrival at Jammu. Then travel to Katra and stay overnight there. Next day morning proceed for Vaishno Devi darshan by walk. For elderly people special palkis facility is available. Who can’t walk till the temple, they can also take a horse ride to the temple. After reaching at the top take a holy Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi and again come back to Katra. Stay overnight at Katra and next day treavel to Jammu for onward destination.
Arrive at Jammu airport, pick up and drive to Katra. The distance is about 40 kms, will be covered in about 1 & ½ hrs, upon arrival in Katra Check into the hotel. Enjoy the nature and admire the beauty of this quiet place and be in awe of the serene surroundings. Overnight stay in the Hotel
After breakfast early in the morning we proceed further to visit the Holy temple of Vaishno Devi. This temple is situated on the top of the hill. From Katra the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage is about 13Kms. To visit the temple one has to hire a pony or travel by foot. After visiting the temple you return back to Katra. Overnight stay in the Hotel
After breakfast enjoy the morning in Jammu and get ready for transfer to Jammu for onwards journey.
